Bold typeface for the entries makes it exceptionally easy to find the word in question. Besides having useful "cultural notes," the Larousse Advanced has a number of "usage modules" suggesting ways of saying common expressions in daily life. To keep the heft of the book under control, the pages are of very thin paper. Clearly, this is the product of generations of dual-language dictionaries. I wanted access to modern terminology and idioms, so that I wouldn't sound like a Victorian textbook. This Larousse contains 400,000 translations and lists all the different usages of a word, with each usage followed by a sample phrase. It is a great source of information and I highly recommend it.
