Flipping Websites: How Much is My Website Worth?

Posted by Admin on May 19th, 2011 at 12:31am

When you become a website flipper, you must wear many hats. But the most important of those is the one of website appraiser. You need to be able to determine, with certainty, the value of a website before you buy else your career as a website flipper will be short lived, and no more flipping websites.

Some of the other hats you may decide to wear is that of the web designer, programmer, web host, marketer, seo specialist, social media coordinator and content creator, but none of these are as important as website appraiser to your website flipping business. Below is a nine point plan for starting a website flipping business.

By priority:

1. Learn to value domains and websites.
2. Join Webmaster Forums and become active.
3. Join Website Marketplace Websites to watch auctions. Learn what make a good and successful auction.
4. Buy a website, then sell that website for more than you bought it.

(Optional) Ongoing Education – You can contract these services out, and don’t have to learn everything before you start.

5. Learn to move a website from server to server.
6. Learn Keyword Research and SEO
7. Learn Pay Per Click Advertising.
8. Learn Web Design.
9. Learn PHP.

If you are going to buy and sell websites, or become a site flipper, you must be able to add value to a website that you buy: better design, seo, traffic, income, etc.

WebsiteToSell has some good website buying and selling videos on Youtube. Below is the video, How Much is My Website Worth? It’s a start on your journey of becoming a website flipper, good luck.
